Mulnayak:
Nearly 75 cms.
high, white-colored idol of Bhagawan Mahavir Swami in the Padmasana
postures.
Tirth:
It is at the foot of the Ponnurmalai hill.
Historicity:
According to the Digambar sect, this was the land of penance of Acharya
Kundakund. He was the pre-eminent Sudhu of the Dravid Sangha. By virtue of
his impressive and spiritual life style, he glorified this land and
Tamilnadu. This great Sadhu purified every particle of this land. A fair
is held here every year on the tenth day of the bright half of the month
of Posh. The people of this place begin an auspicious work after praying
to him.

At present, the footmarks of Kundakundacharya are there, installed on the
hill.

of art and Sculpture:
On the hill and at the foot of it, the natural beauty of the peaceful
atmosphere absorbs the mind in sadhana. The pure particles of this place
give experience of great peace to the soul.
Guidelines:
The nearest railway station of Dindivanam is at a distance of nearly 40
kilometers and the chief city of Madras is at a distance of 130
kilometers. The Ponnur village is at a distance of 3 kilometers. Bus
service and private vehicles are available. Boarding and lodging provisions
are there at the foot of the hill.
