Mulnayak:
Red - colored (Original stone color) idol of Bhagawan Adishvar in the
Padmasana Posture.
Tirth:
It is in an ancient fort on the hill outside the Kangada village on the
confluence of the rivers Ravi and Satlaj.
Historicity:
This ancient tirth is believed to belong to the time of Bhagawan Neminath,
the twenty second of the present group of twenty four Tirthankars. There
is also a mention that King Susharampur built this temple and got the idol
of Adinath installed in it and the ancient names of Kangada were
‘Bhimkot’ and ‘Bhimnagar’. This tirth and other temples are
mentioned in the tirthmalas written by Acharyas and Upadhyays between the
14th and the 17 centuries. In course of time the temples here were
destroyed and only this temple has survived. Since the year 1947 of the
Vikram era, groups of pilgrims again started coming here and this tirth is
regarded as the chief important tirth of Himachal Pradesh. A Fair is held
here every year from the thirteenth to the fifteenth day of the bright
half of the month of Fagan.

of art and Sculpture:
The remains found here remind one of the antiquities of the ancient
temple. With green valleys, snow - covered peaks of the Himalayas, and
rivers and lakes, this tirth looks beautiful. The natural beauty of this
place is beyond description. Among ruins here, artistic specimens of
ancient works of art of ancient temples, are seen. The workmanship of the
present idol is distinct and sighty.
Guidelines:
The nearest railway station of Kangada is at a distance of 1.5 kilometers
and the chief city of Hosiyarpur is at distance of 102 kilometers from
Hoshiyarpur. There is a facility of swinging - cost for going up the hill.
Bus service and private vehicle are available. Boarding and lodging
provisions are there near the fort.
