Mulnayak: 107 cms. high white - colored idol of Bhagawan
Adishvar in the Padmasna posture.
Tirth:
It is near the Vamaj village at a distance of 6 kilometers from the sacred
place of Sherisa.
Historicity: The idol of Dada
Adishvar belongs to the times of king Samprati. It is, therefore,
difficult to know its antiquity. This was once a very famous temple. It is
said that there was an underground road from Vamaj to Sherisa and it was
used in the times of King Samprati. Even to day, a number of relics and
ruins of buildings are found. It was, therefore, perhaps a great city.
This temple is mentioned in ‘Aloyana Vinati’, composed poet Lavanyagani in
the year 1562 of the Vikram era. In the year 1979, the chief idol was
found from the ground in a street of Kanabis. On the thirteenth day of the
bright half of he month of Vaishakh in the year 2002 of the Vikram era,
the idol was formally installed in the new temple by Vijayodaysurishvarji.
Other Temples: There is no other temple.
Works of art and Sculpture: Looking to the artistry of the
idol one can say that it remained underground for many years. A great
fortunate man often got invisible indications about the idol. He searched
accordingly and found the rare image. This impressive idol shows miracles
even today. Rains of old buildings and sculptural models are found here
and there.
