Shri Una Tirth

Mulnayak: 76 cms. high, white - colored idol of Bhagawan Adishvar in the Padmasana posture.

Tirth: In the center of the village Una.

Historicity: The ancient name of this sacred place was Unnatpur. Today also, the proverb goes "Una, Poona and Junagadh - these three are old places." This temple was built in the times of King Samprati. Here, there were as many as 700 Paushadhashalas. This is one of the group of the five Ajhama temples of Saurasthra. In the cellar, there is another idol. It is of Bhagawan Amizara Parshvanath. Sometimes, nectar oozes out of it. Sometimes an old Snake is seen sitting in the shape of an umbrella over the head of God’s idol.

Other Temples: Near this temple, there are five other temples. There is also an upashrya called the upashraya of His Holiness Vijaysensurishvarji Maharaj Saheb. Dadawadi is at distance of one kilometer from here. It is called Shahibag. In Shahibag, there are twelve. small temples in all. In them, there are foot images of His Holiness Vijayasensurisvarji Maharaj Saheb and others.

Works of art and Sculpture: All the ancient idols of this place are artistic. But the chief idol (in the fourth temple) of Bhagawan Parshvanath is worth seeing. It was formally installed by king Samprati.

Guidelines: Una is the railway station nearby. It is at a distance of one kilometer from this place. Pilgrims can go in buses and taxes. Buses and taxis also go to Dadavadi which is at the distance of one kilometer. There is also a dharmashala.
