Shri Naroda Tirth

Mulnayak: 33 cms. high, white - colored idol of Bhagawan Godiji Parshvanath in the Padmasana posture.

Tirth: It is in the center of the village Naroda in Ahmedabad.

Historicity: There is an evidence that Naroda to the east of Ahmedabad is the Nishadh city of ancient times. It is believed that this was the city of King. Nal. Padmavati Parshvanath is also another name of the idol of Godiji Parshvanath in the splendid temple with a summit, built by Sheth Shri Hathisinh. This idol was found from the ground. Since this is a very awe - inspiring idol, it is very famous in Ahmedabad, crowds of Pilgrims swarm here on the first, day and the fifteenth day of the bright half of every month.

Other Temples: Recently set up, there four more temples.

Works of art and Sculpture: The idol of this temple, is very beautiful and delightful. Many ruins found from a hillock near this temple, make one infer that this was a very ancient and splendid temple. Beside the chief idol there is a very miraculous idol of Padmavatiji. it fulfills desires of faithful devotees. On auspicious occasions, people respectfully offer a Chundadi ( a silken garment with designs painted on it) to Mataji. In the wall paintings of the open squares, various sacred places can be seen. .

Guidelines: It is in the center of the Bazaar in the village of Naroda at a distance of 8 kilometers from Ahmedabad. Bus service, taxi service and other vehicles are available here. There is an upashraya. A dharmashala is also there.
